What we store
When you sign up we store:
- your email address
- the city you picked, with its approximate coordinates and time zone
- a random code used in your confirm and unsubscribe links
- the date you signed up and the last date we checked the forecast for you
We don’t ask for your name or your exact location, and we don’t use cookies or analytics on this site.
Why we store it
Only to send you the rain alerts you asked for: a short email the evening before a rainy day in your city. The basis is your consent, which you give by signing up and confirming your email. You can withdraw it at any time.
How long we keep it
- Until you unsubscribe. The unsubscribe link in every email deletes your email and city straight away.
- Signups that are never confirmed are deleted automatically after 7 days.
Who else handles your data
We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising. To run the service we use these providers:
- Open-Meteo: supplies the weather forecast and the city search. When you type a city, your browser sends that text directly to Open-Meteo’s servers.
The site’s pages load text fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when you visit. The donation link goes to Buy Me a Coffee, which has its own privacy policy. Some of these providers are based outside the EU and handle data under their own terms and safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent. To delete everything, click the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or write to the address above. If you think we’ve handled your data wrongly, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
